The Australia Asia Pacific Media Initiative is a project of Supporters of Australian Broadcasting in Asia and the Pacific - a group of Australians with experience in the Asia Pacific region and people in Asia and the Pacific advocating stronger media ties.
Our not-for-profit group includes current and former senior executives, journalists, technical experts, academics, members of the audience and members of the Asia Pacific diaspora communities in Australia.
The group was established in May 2018 and has grown rapidly. We have supporters in most Australian states and territories and in at least 10 countries in the region including Indonesia, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste and many Pacific nations.
We have a presence on Facebook, Twitter and have made submissions to the Review of Australian Broadcasting Services in the Asia Pacific and the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade’s Soft Power Review.
SABAP has representatives in Brisbane, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne and Hobart.
